Founder & President

Alexander “Sandy” Macdonald is a Canadian entrepreneur with more than four decades of experience in the consumer electronics industry. Over his career, he has built, acquired, and successfully operated multiple companies across retail, distribution, and system integration.

Sandy founded Absolute Sound Imports to bring innovative global consumer electronics brands to the Canadian market. His approach has always focused on identifying emerging technologies and helping manufacturers establish a strong presence through knowledgeable dealer networks and focused market development.

Throughout his career, Sandy has been known for developing businesses from the ground up, revitalizing struggling companies, and guiding brands through critical growth stages. His deep understanding of the Canadian audio and electronics landscape continues to shape the strategic direction of Absolute Sound Imports.

Grant Daoust

VP of Development

Grant Daoust is a seasoned executive in the Canadian consumer electronics industry with more than three decades of experience in distribution, sales leadership, and brand development. He is best known as the co-founder and former CEO of one of Canada’s most respected specialty distributors of residential, commercial, and mobile audio/video products.

Throughout his career, Grant has played a key role in building national dealer networks, introducing innovative global brands to the Canadian market, and leading large-scale strategic initiatives that helped shape the modern AV distribution landscape.

At Absolute Sound Imports, Grant brings deep industry knowledge, strategic insight, and a strong network of relationships across the Canadian electronics market, helping guide the company’s growth and long-term market development.
